Baldwin’s Big Christmas Delivery – 4 Star Review

I recently read and reviewed Mr. Zip’s Windy Day and have a new holiday book from the same author, Annie Aurbach & illustrations by Terry Shakespeare & David Molina. Baldwin’s Big Christmas Delivery is a story centered around Christmas time at a busy train yard where several trains have lots of packages that need to be delivered. The story is heartwarming and features themes of perseverance and demonstrates how one person can make a big difference.

Baldwin, a switcher train, does his best to get all the big trains ready. When he discovers a Christmas package that’s been left behind, Baldwin decides he must deliver it himself – no matter what!

official blurb

Baldwin is a little train who goes on an adventure to deliver a lost present, even at the risk of an incoming snowstorm. This book will be fantastic for young readers, especially those infatuated with trains. It was cute to see other trackside elements represented as characters too, such as a red stop light & crossing arm brothers. The theme of Christmas and gift-giving carries to each page & has a sweet wholesome ending. While I enjoyed this book, it did not spectacularly move me; however, it was a fun holiday read & could make a great gift to a little train lover. Add Baldwin’s Big Christmas Delivery to your Goodreads or buy a copy today for a child you know.
